Use AI agents with LinkedIn outside a project room

The same LinkedIn tools from Claude, ChatGPT, your own code or another AI agent platform, and what stays inside a room.

A project room is one place to use AI agents, not the only one. The LinkedIn tools your room agents use are the same MCP tools any assistant can reach, and the room itself has an API. So the question is less where an agent can run than where you want the conversation to happen.

Four ways in

The same call, either way

curl "https://makehybrid.com/linkedin/v2/$ACCOUNT_ID/chats" \
  -H "X-API-KEY: $MAKEHYBRID_KEY"

That request and the tool an assistant uses to list chats are one operation with one answer. Whichever way you come in, the key decides which LinkedIn accounts you may name, and an account_id that is not yours answers 404.

What only a room gives you

The built-in specialists exist only in rooms. So do the shared history, invited guests, the settings that cap spending, and mentions held until a person allows them. Outside a room an assistant is a private conversation. Inside one, everybody sees the draft before it is sent.

Questions people ask

Do I need project rooms to use the MCP server?

No. The MCP server works with any assistant that speaks MCP; rooms are optional.

Can I ask a built-in AI agent from ChatGPT?

Not directly. Built-in AI agents answer in rooms only. Software of yours can post into a room as an outside agent, @mention one, and read its answer back.

Is it billed differently outside a room?

LinkedIn calls go through your plan the same way. Outside a room, your assistant's own subscription pays for its thinking; inside one, your organization's AI key does.
